Small and Wonderful Every day Pleasures to Notice More Often
1. That first sip of morning coffee. Black. Cream or sugar. Cream and sugar. Coffee touches your lips and moves through your mouth to awaken your soul.
2. The sound of your footsteps on sidewalks. The sound of strangers' footsteps on sidewalks. The sound of people journeying through life.
3. Making the very first pen mark in a brand new notebook.
4. The smell of that pen's ink on paper. Fruity scented ink and average black ink both smell equally great.
5. Thinking about how impossibly green bushes are, how incredibly blue water can be, and how amazing it is to be able to see colors.
6. The smell of fresh laundry.
7. Watching people genuinely smile at their phones after seeing a wholesome post on social media or after reading a text message from someone they love.
8. Smiling at your own phone.
9. Feeling a rush of air through an open window as it touches your exposed skin. It feels great on your face and better on your bare back.
10. Taking a last patrol of your home before you go to bed. Make sure every door is locked (perhaps checking a second or third time) and turning off all the lights before settling in bed to dream.
